If you’ve lived in Qatar long enough, you must be well aware of Qatar’s generosity.
The country’s authorities together with different organizations continue to support the health and well being of citizens and residents at all times.
As the country continues to fight the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), it also ensures that the general impact of this health challenge remains to an absolute minimum on society.
Earlier, under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to support the economic and financial sector in the country, an aid package worth QR 75 billion was announced.
This lead to the development of the National Guarantee Program aimed at providing guarantees to local banks to grant interest-free loans to private companies. The program aims to support salaries and rents of companies in the private sector.
A number of organizations in the country have introduced praiseworthy initiatives.
Adding to this is another commendable effort by Qatar Charity (QC), carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the support of other authorities and benefactors to distribute ready-to-eat meals in the country under the "Khair Kitchens" initiative.
Until April 7, Qatar distributed as many as 94,000 meals as part of its preventive and awareness-raising campaign in the fight against COVID-19.
QC representatives distribute some 6,000 meals every day in the Industrial Area and the Quarantine Center in Mukaynis.
The campaign is supported by different companies including Ard Canaan, Popular Kitchens Al Rayyan, Popular Kitchens Al Wakra, Luxury Catering, Mazzraty, and Ghadeer Dairy, and other benefactors.
"We offer different types of ready-to-eat meals, focusing on workers in the Mukaynis area, and we hope to cover the entire area by increasing the number of workers and other areas," Mohammed al Ghamdi, assistant CEO of the Governance and Institutional Development Division at the Qatar Charity said.
As part of its nationwide campaign to combat the #Coronavirus, #Qatar_Charity is distributing daily hot meals on workers to stand with our community members against the pandemic.
