Qatar Charity (QC) has unveiled the ‘5%’ program to give hope to low-income families and students in Qatar during the upcoming fasting month.

The program welcomes organizations, companies, and shops to donate 5 percent of their profits for one month only.

The donations will benefit low-income families and primary, preparatory, and secondary school students in Qatar.

The initiative comes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has severely impacted the economic conditions of families, many of whom were unable to pay school fees for their children.

The program aims to promote the right to education for students in schools, provide families with the necessary food items, and join hands to confront the economic implications of the pandemic on families with limited income and students in Qatar.

The Director of Programs and Community Development at Qatar Charity, Jassem Muhammad Al Emadi said that the program has been developed to support families affected by the pandemic and help in the continuity of education for their children.

The QC official urged all organizations, companies and shops to take part in the program.

QC is studying the cases of the families with limited income and students, counting the number of families affected by the pandemic, and verifying that the cases meet the requirements of social research to benefit from the financial aid provided during the last ten days of Ramadan, Al Emadi mentioned.
