In addition to Qatar Charity’s ongoing global effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, Qatar Charity has sent medical aid worth US$300,000 to Kosovo.
6,500 coronavirus test kits and six ventilators were sent under an agreement signed between Qatar Charity and the Ministry of Health of Kosovo.
The shipment was sent in the presence of the Ambassador of Qatar HE Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri, who handed over this aid to the Minister of Health of Kosovo.

The Minister of Health of Kosovo Mr. Armend Zemaj said “We receive this aid to protect our citizens,” thanking Qatar and the Ambassador and Qatar Charity’s office in Pristina.
It is noteworthy that Qatar Charity has provided urgent food and health assistance to poor families, benefiting more than 20,000 people at a cost of 250,000 euros since the beginning of the coronavirus.
Director of the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo Mr. Nasser Ramdani said, "We thank the State of Qatar for supporting the efforts of Kosovo in fighting the coronavirus pandemic.”
With the ambition to facilitate multilateral cooperation to effectively respond to COVID-19, Qatar recently joined hands with four other countries. These comprise Canada, Denmark, South Korea, and Sierra Leone, to launch a global forum, the Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security.
The support reflects Qatar's contribution to international efforts to tackle infectious disease, which poses a common threat to all countries in the world.
Meanwhile, health authorities in Qatar continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, and the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
