Qatar has strongly condemned the Houthi group’s attacks on Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia, saying the incidents caused deaths, injuries and material damage.
In a statement issued on October 8, 2026, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as a serious violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct threat to the security of the region, civilians, civilian infrastructure and civil aviation.
Qatar reaffirms solidarity with Saudi Arabia
The Ministry reiterated Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures taken to preserve Saudi sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and national interests.
It also stressed that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of Qatar and the collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
This position is consistent with Qatar’s recent statements condemning attacks on civilian and economic sites in Saudi Arabia and reaffirming its support for the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qatar
Condolences to victims
Qatar also expressed its condolences to the families of those killed and to the Saudi government, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The condemnation comes amid wider regional criticism of the attacks on Abha and King Khalid international airports, which have also drawn statements of solidarity with Saudi Arabia from other Arab and Gulf states.
