United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Sunday strongly condemned the attack launched by the Houthi group on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, which resulted in deaths and hundreds of civilian injuries.

Guterres said in a post on the X platform that he was deeply shocked by the deadly attack on the airport on Saturday, which killed 12 people and injured hundreds of civilians.

The UN Secretary-General stressed that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are a violation of international law, stressing the need to stop them immediately.

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced on Saturday evening that 12 people died and 309 others were injured as a result of the attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
