Qatar enters Al Jabha season as nights begin to become milder

Qatar has entered Al Jabha, a traditional seasonal phase associated with the early stages of autumn, beginning on September 6, 2026.

According to information shared by the Qatar Meteorology Department, citing the Qatar Calendar House, Al Jabha is the first of the longer autumn star phases and lasts for 14 days.

The period is traditionally associated with a noticeable change in weather conditions, particularly during the evening. Night-time temperatures are expected to become more moderate, while daytime conditions generally remain hot.

Al Jabha is also known as the "Lion's Forehead" and consists of four stars located behind Al Tarfah. In traditional Gulf seasonal knowledge, its appearance has long been associated with beneficial rainfall and greener vegetation when sufficient rain occurs.

The season also has particular significance for agriculture. It traditionally marks the beginning of date harvesting, while farmers may also begin planting palm offshoots, transplanting trees and growing vegetables during this period.

Among farmers, the season is also known as Al Ashrat.

While Al Jabha forms part of the region's traditional astronomical and agricultural calendar, actual temperatures and rainfall can vary depending on current weather conditions.
