The country is likely to witness scattered rains that are thundery at times on Sunday, announced the Qatar Meteorology Department.

Until 6pm, the weather inshore will remain misty at places and will be partly cloudy. There could be thundery rain at places, with blowing dust at times, said the Department in its daily weather report. There could also be strong wind and poor visibility at times.

The Department also tweeted that thundery rains had been observed in the western parts of Qatar, both inshore and offshore, on Sunday.

The wind will blow inshore and offshore in the southeasterly to northeasterly direction, eventually reaching 25knots with thundery rain.

Qatar enjoyed some good weather after the end of the Bard Al Azariq season in January, which saw the coldest days of the year in the country.

While there were a few dusty mornings and cold nights in the past months, now it seems like there may be a little more rain coming.

The country had experienced some rain in mid-January, with temperatures in the country dropping low.

If you are out and about during the rain, here is a little video with some safety instructions which you may find useful.
