Marching steadily towards achieving its 2030 vision, Qatar has recognized the FinTech industry as a key component of its knowledge-based economy objective.

To choose Qatar as their launchpad to the global market, Qatar Central Bank’s National FinTech Strategy has enabled the local startup sector and created a favourable ecosystem for international FinTech’s.

With access to nearby markets worth $2.1 Trillion, Qatar is inviting startups with innovative solutions in Financial Technologies such as e-payments, Bitcoins and Crypto Currencies, and processes automation among others.

QFTH is dedicated to offering Qatar’s first-ever specialized Incubator and Accelerator Programs, which target entrepreneurs with innovative and cutting-edge FinTech ideas.

The first wave of these two niche programs have kicked off recently with over 20 FinTech’s from around the world enrolled for a rigorous 12-week schedule of orientation, workshops, mentoring, logistical support, networking, speaker sessions, and opportunities for business development.

The program witnessed a massive turnout, receiving more than 750 applications from mature FinTechs in Qatar and 72 other countries, during the first call for applications.

The application received from the USA, Australia, UK, India, Singapore, Germany and many more, indicate that Qatar is regarded as a destination for the international business community.

Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, CEO of QDB and Chairman of Qatar FinTech Hub, stated that QFTH is a part of their strategy to contribute to the Qatar National Vision 2030 and will enable the development of an economy that requires modern financial technologies, catering to the needs of the tech-savvy Qatari consumers.

As part of its commitment to offer world-class expertise to participating FinTech’s, QFTH has collaborated with local and international institutions. Amazon, Microsoft, Visa and Mastercard are some of the few major partners for QFTH Wave 1 programs.

Co-founded by QDB, QFTH aims to encourage and support multinational FinTech firms to establish operations in Qatar.
