Qatar’s embassy in Rwanda marked the official opening of its new headquarter in the capital Kigali yesterday.

The inauguration saw the attendance of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda Dr Vincent Biruta and several other heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country.

HE the Ambassador of Qatar to Rwanda Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sayed took the opportunity to reaffirm the strength of the friendly ties between the two countries.

Qatar and Rwanda have cemented bilateral cooperation in recent years, particularly in the domains of economy, investment and development sectors.

The two countries have also signed a number of agreements for cooperation in air transport, sport and culture, as well as tourism and business activities.

Qatar-Rwanda bond was also consolidated through an agreement signed between Hassad Food company and the Government of Rwanda in November 2018 that looked at investment opportunities in the field of agriculture and food.

Rwanda's government has succeeded in fighting corruption and in reducing extreme poverty. Its economy is one of the fastest-growing economies in the African continent, with textiles, clothing, leather, agricultural crops, livestock, among several other prominent sectors.
