The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), participated in the GCC working group meeting on environmental directions, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The meeting focused on preparing a comprehensive report on the progress of GCC states in implementing environmental strategies.
Qatar was represented by Khaled Jumaa Al Mahmadi, Director of the Wildlife Development Department at MECC. Discussions addressed current environmental priorities, future implementation plans, and the integration of feedback from Qatar and Oman into the final report.
The MECC emphasized Qatar’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under Qatar National Vision 2030, through policies and initiatives that safeguard the environment, preserve natural resources, and support balanced development for future generations.
This participation reflects Qatar’s ongoing support for GCC-wide environmental cooperation and sustainability, strengthening collective efforts to address regional and global environmental challenges.
