Qatar and Kuwait have always enjoyed strong brotherly relations, which have been cemented by Kuwait's unwavering support to Qatar ever since the Gulf crisis erupted.
The two nations have pledged support and cooperation in several areas including political, economic, trade, investment, military and security cooperation, education, tourism, and art.
The passing of the former Kuwaiti Amir was met with great sorrow in Qatar, reflecting in a three-day mourning period marked across the country.
As Qatar and Kuwait continue to build on their mutual friendship and strategic relations, the Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait organized its fifth session yesterday via video conferencing technology.
His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani chaired the Qatari side.
The Kuwaiti side was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Dr Ahmed Nasser Al Mohammad Al Sabah.
During the session, the two parties discussed bilateral relations and ways to further enhance cooperation in addition to discussing issues of mutual concern.

The Qatari FM and his Kuwaiti counterpart also initialed five Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) between Qatar and Kuwait.
The MoUs signed are for cooperation in the following areas:
- In the field of encouraging direct investment
- In the field of civil service affairs and administrative development
- In the field of Islamic affairs between the governments of the two countries
- In various agricultural fields and improving the implementation
- In construction and maintenance of roads during the work of the Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation
The two ministers also signed the minutes of the meeting of the fifth session of the Committee.
HE Qatar's FM highlighted during the session that the strength of the Qatar-Kuwait cooperation amid these delicate regional and international circumstances reflects the wise political will of the leaders of the two countries.
