Qatar’s list of sporting achievements continues to grow with the country’s parachute jumping team securing yet another prestigious win.
The Target Accuracy Team of the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces claimed the first spot in the Slovenian Parachute Jump Championship held recently in the Slovenian city of Ptuj.
The two-day championship saw the participation of seven teams, including Slovenia, Bosnia, Austria, America, and Serbia, in addition to Qatar.
Saleh Al Obaidi, Abdulaziz Al Hajjaji, Khaled Shaja and Mishaal Al Qaoud represented Qatar at the championship. With its brilliant performance, the Qatari team clinched the top spot at the sporting event, outperforming all competitors and building on the country’s existing accomplishments in parachute jumping.
Team Qatar won gold, silver and bronze medals at the tournament and received the gold in the overall ranking of the teams.
Mishaal Al Qaoud won gold by securing first place in the individual category while Saleh Al Obaidi won the gold for first place in the Junior category. He also won second place in the singles category.
Abdulaziz Al Hajaji and Khaled Shaja got third place in the singles.
Captain of the Qatar parachute jump team, Rashid Talib Al Marri attributed the victory to a combined effort by all team members.
He mentioned that it was not an easy competition in light of the participation of a constellation of game stars from major teams that have a long history in parachute jumping and many achievements at the level of tournaments.

However, with their zealous drive and determination, Team Qatar succeeded in achieving their goal and winning the championship title.
Al Marri wished the parachute jumping champions success in future championships and hoped they would continue to give their best in parachute jump.
Meanwhile, Qatar's preparations are in top gear for the 44th World Parachuting Championship (CISM), which it will host in November 2021. So far, 21 out of the 40 participating countries have already confirmed their attendance.
