The MoT has asked employers and employees from construction and logistics firms, heavy and light cargo firms, and freight service firms to engage in field surveys for the Qatar Freight Master Plan (QFMP) project.
In a tweet Wednesday, the Ministry stated that it is undertaking field surveys to evaluate land freight operations as part of the Qatar Freight Master Plan (QFMP) initiative. "Based on field circumstances, the surveys are likely to continue through the end of September 2022," the MoT noted.

The Ministry of Transportation cordially invites employers and employees of construction and logistics companies, heavy and light cargo companies, and freight service companies to kindly cooperate with MoT's staff and its affiliated specialized field survey teams in collecting the required data throughout the State of Texas.
According to the Ministry, all data collected will be treated with complete privacy and secrecy. The information gathered will only be used to achieve the project's goals. None of the collected data will be divulged or shared in any way with a third party.
The Ministry is now examining the Qatar Freight Master Plan, which is stated to be completed by the end of 2022, according to a previous statement.
The MoT is currently gathering data and administering necessary surveys and questionnaires. This project includes gathering a wide range of freight-related data on the sources, routes, and destinations of freight movements, the flow rate of trucks at significant junctions, and other qualitative and quantitative data on the transportation system.
Field surveys are being conducted to obtain data for the QFMP. According to the MoT, extensive data will be collected through traffic counts on roads and junctions using cameras, measuring trip duration on existing roads, classifying vehicles including all types of trucks, and conducting surveys and questionnaires with employers and employees of construction, logistics, heavy and light transportation, and freight services companies, as well as harbours and Hamad International Airport.
According to an earlier statement from the Ministry, the QFMP aims to establish a modern infrastructure for the freight industry across the country as part of an integrated transportation system in such a way that it upgrades the culture and service of freight in Qatar to the best global standards and practices in terms of traffic safety and the least possible environmental imprint.
Last month, the Ministry of Transport also unveiled the Transportation Master Plan for Qatar 2050 (TMPQ).
The TMPQ serves as a roadmap for investing in land transportation infrastructure, as well as identifying frameworks and future orientations for developing transportation networks nationwide in a manner that ensures their integration with land uses, urban development, population growth, and meeting future transportation demand.
To execute land transport plans under TMPQ, a total of 286 projects will be implemented, comprising 86 highway schemes, 22 goods transport schemes, 54 public transportation schemes, 21 pedestrian schemes, 29 bicycle schemes, and 74 cross-modal and integration schemes.
There are 37 infrastructure initiatives totaling 770km in length, 22 of which are truck routes and 10 of which are infrastructure/facilities schemes. There are 30 public transportation proposals for modernizing the primary public transportation network, which spans 540 kilometers.
