Nasser al-Khater, CEO of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 said that the country has always strived to offer fans a World Cup experience that is affordable by arranging different types of accommodations with varying price ranges that suit everyone's needs.

“We’ve learned from previous tournaments. We know there have been price hikes in previous tournaments to take advantage of the fans who have bought tickets, that’s something we have always been determined to avoid. I completely understand the concern when fans see these prices, but we will make this World Cup as affordable as possible for everyone,” Al-Khater said.

With tickets purchased, fans can book accommodation through a portal set up by the organizers, which offers various selections of hotel rooms, apartments & villas, fan villages and two cruise ships with approximately 4,000 cabins, accommodating more than 8,000 fans.

“It’s important that fans visit our accommodation portal once they have booked their tickets,” al-Khater said. There will be other ways for them to book their accommodation, but if they want the cheapest options, this is where they find them,” Al Khater said.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) has also underscored its dedication to ensuring that good preparations are made to host/accommodate the FIFA World Cup 2022 fans, through the official platform it launched exclusively for this purpose, according to the Qatar News Agency. Nearly 80% of the competition's options are available on the platform.

According to a statement released by the SC on Thursday, 130,000 rooms will be available to World Cup guests, which shows that fans will have easy access to lodging. Furthermore, the statement noted that Qatar expects to host a million fans during the World Cup.

Several apartments offer accommodations for under $80 per night, while luxury floating hotels, which include restaurants and offer many recreational activities, cost about $180 per night.

World Cup fans will have the opportunity to stay in floating hotels during the event. A recent agreement between the SC and MSC Cruises will lead to the rental of two cruise ships with a total capacity of 4,000 cabins.

In addition, the statement said the SC signed a deal with Accor, the largest hospitality operator in Europe, to provide 10,000 employees to manage over a million nights of stays in 60,000 apartment and villa rooms during the contest.

Al-Khater said that there will be plenty of options to suit all needs and demands for football fans looking to visit Qatar, pointing out that Qatar has a commitment to providing world-class accommodations that guarantee all fans can enjoy the first World Cup to take place in the Middle East.
