Qatar has secured the top position in the Arab world and ranked 18th globally for health services, according to the Numbeo Index, an international benchmark that evaluates healthcare quality, accessibility, infrastructure efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Throughout 2025, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has continued to drive the development of Qatar’s healthcare system through robust policymaking, sector regulation, and the integration of services to ensure high standards of quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

According to MoPH data, Qatar’s healthcare workforce comprises approximately 58,000 professionals across public and private sectors, spanning medical, nursing, technical, and administrative fields. The country currently offers 5,485 hospital beds, reflecting sustained capacity expansion to meet population growth, urban development, and rising healthcare demand.

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) marked significant progress in 2025, reinforcing its role as the country’s primary provider of specialised and secondary care and as a regional leader in clinical excellence and quality performance. Key achievements included strategic partnerships, service enhancements, the adoption of advanced medical technologies, and nationally significant medical milestones.

To improve access to care and reduce waiting times, HMC entered partnerships with private hospitals to refer patients requiring specialised services. Additionally, the opening of a musculoskeletal physiotherapy clinic for seniors at the Qatar Rehabilitation Centre underscored HMC’s commitment to specialised care that promotes independence and quality of life among older adults. The clinic delivers advanced therapeutic programmes focused on strength, mobility, and balance.

In October 2025, HMC further strengthened its regional and global standing by hosting the Middle East Forum on Person-Centred Care, providing a platform for international knowledge exchange and showcasing best practices in integrated, sustainable, and human-centred healthcare delivery.

Qatar’s National Immunisation Programme continues to achieve vaccination coverage exceeding 95% for most essential childhood vaccines, reflecting the success of preventive health policies, effective awareness campaigns, and strong community engagement.

MoPH also introduced a comprehensive five-year national action plan in 2025 to enhance monitoring and surveillance of food additives in both locally produced and imported food. The ministry secured renewed international accreditation from the American Accreditation Body under ISO/IEC 17020, reinforcing public confidence in the national food control system.

Supporting its digital transformation agenda, the launch of the LBAIH application has significantly enhanced the patient experience by enabling appointment management, access to medical records, test results, prescriptions, and timely health alerts—all contributing to a more efficient and patient-centric healthcare system.
