Qatar Rejects Israeli Statements on Annexing Areas in Southern Lebanon and Gaza

The State of Qatar expressed its complete rejection of Israeli statements concerning the annexation of areas in southern Lebanon and areas extending to the "Yellow Line" in the Gaza Strip, considering them a flagrant challenge to international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to assume its responsibilities and compel the Israeli occupation government to halt its expansionist plans and settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories. The ministry renewed the State of Qatar's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on ending the occupation and enabling them to attain their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. It also affirmed its steadfast position towards the brotherly Lebanese Republic and its sovereignty over all its territory.
