Qatar’s second local camel race concludes after 12 days of competition

The second local race for purebred Arabian camels for the season (2026-2027), organized by the Camel Racing Committee at Al Sheehaniya and Basir fields, came down today, amid a large participation of fans of this heritage sport.

The race competitions were held over 12 consecutive days during the morning period only, with 5 days for camels of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Sheikhs, followed by 7 days for camels of tribesmen.

The competitions of the final day of the camels of the tribesmen were strong in various runs, as the general races of Sin Al-Hail and Al-Zamoul were held for a distance of 5 kilometers with 20 runs, 12 runs on Al-Sheehaniyah Square, including 6 runs for Al-Hail and 6 runs for Al-Zamoul, and 8 runs on Labasir Square, including 4 runs for Al-Hail and 4 runs for Al-Zamoul.

During the main first half dedicated to Al-Hail (open) at Al Sheehaniya Square, Sindara of King Abdulhadi Khalil Mansour Al-Hajri won the first place with a time of (8:02:75) minutes, while Mayassa of Ahmed Ali Mohammed Al-Ketbi came in second place with a time of (8:02:83) minutes, and Al-Mutahid Malik Hafeez Saeed Naji Al-Marri came in third place with a time of (8:03:38) minutes.

In the main first half dedicated to Zamoul (open), the King of Hamad Mubarak Daif Al-Marri achieved the first place with a time of (8:06:65) minutes, and Al-Janish Malik Jaber Salem Saad Al-Marri came in second place with a time of (8:11:81) minutes, while the Mandial of King Ali Saad Saleh Al-Marri came in third place with a time of (8:13:53) minutes.

The third local race is scheduled to run from October 14 to 26 of the same month, over 12 consecutive days during the morning period only.
