Intisar De Monlau secured the eighth feature title of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club’s 2026–2027 domestic horse racing season after winning the Qetaifan Cup on Thursday evening at Al Rayyan Racecourse. The eighth meeting comprised eight races featuring different distances and horse categories, with broad participation from owners, trainers and jockeys.
Owned by Wathnan Racing, Intisar De Monlau won the eighth and feature race for the Qetaifan Cup, a 1,400-metre Purebred Arabian Conditions contest for horses aged three and older. She marked her return to competition and the winners’ enclosure after finishing first or second in each of her previous five starts, including a Group 2 victory in January.
The five-year-old grey mare produced a strong performance in a field of 12 rivals, giving trainer Alban de Mieulle his second victory and jockey Soufiane Saadi his third win of the meeting. In the second race, a 1,600-metre Thoroughbred Maiden Plate for three-year-olds, Tuyoof, owned by Khalifa bin Sheail Al Kuwari, won by five lengths under jockey Soufiane Saadi and trainer Hamad Al Jehani.
