The TASMU program will create a platform for the digital economy to thrive by empowering creativity and providing chances for start-ups.
TASMU would encourage both the public and commercial sectors to adopt ICT, boosting economic competitiveness and allowing non-oil and gas GDP to grow significantly.

“We are number one in internet penetration at 99 percent. We are ranked second in the region when it comes to government electronic services in addition to the fact that Qatar is one of the first to use 5G technology with penetration of half the country,” the Minister stated.

Qatar has emerged as a formidable competitor in ICT and information technology, ranking among the top ten countries in communication adoption and ICT use in services and commercial activities, according to Al Sulaiti. Qatar is also ranked first in the world for empowering people with special needs and 21st for environmental capabilities and eco-system empowerment.
According to HE Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori Assistant Undersecretary, Digital Society Development at MoTC, TASMU will promote communication across sectors between government entities, businesses, and individuals, as well as provide advanced technologies to the public and private sectors to develop smart solutions and applications that meet national KPIs.
It will also store and analyze national data and produce key insights to help all Qatari organizations make better decisions and manage their resources.
