While Qatar has activated its four-phased plan on the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, it continues to scale up efforts to protect its population against the virus.
Earlier, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced that together with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and the Primary Healthcare Corporation (PHCC) Qatar has intensified an awareness campaign on COVID-19 preventive measures in light of the easing of restrictions.
The MoPH and its partners are conducting awareness activities under the slogan “You have the right” to ensure the right of citizens and residents that all entities and individuals should be implementing proper preventive measures to protect themselves against the virus.
The country has made it mandatory for citizens and residents to wear masks in public and install the Ehteraz app, in addition to limiting activities and implementing social distancing measures.

Yesterday, Qatar took part in the third extraordinary meeting of the GCC health ministers' committee to review and discuss the latest updates regarding COVID-19.
Her Excellency Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari the Minister of Public Health represented Qatar in the meeting, which was held through video conferencing.
The meeting delved into several important topics, including the plans of GCC countries to return after the COVID-19 crisis. It also discussed a proposal to adopt a Gulf protocol to treat COVID-19 cases.
The GCC health ministers' decisions concerning the exchange of experiences, protocols, and information among member states were also covered during the meeting in addition to the GCC guideline for plans about preparedness and response to epidemics and pandemics.
Earlier this week, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also praised Qatar's healthcare workers - the medical staff and other affiliated teams who have saved the lives of many people infected with the virus calling them the "champions of these times".
