Qatar University to Host Joud Charity Festival to Support Students in Need

Qatar University will host the "Joud" Charity Festival from September 6 to 10 on campus, coinciding with the International Day of Charity.

The festival aims to promote a culture of giving and raise financial support for the Joud Student Support Fund.

The fund receives donations and grants from institutions and individuals to assist eligible students. Its support includes contributions towards tuition and housing fees, as well as laptop loans for students facing financial difficulties.

The Joud Student Support Fund was licensed by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in November 2023 and forms part of the University's efforts to strengthen student support and provide sustainable funding for educational initiatives.

Khulood Al Otaibi, Director of the Student Services Department at Qatar University, said the festival reflects the University's commitment to inclusive education and sustainable support for students, while helping to strengthen community solidarity.

She added that financial circumstances should not prevent students from pursuing their academic ambitions and achieving excellence.

The festival also supports student initiatives and community sustainability. Several project owners were selected according to specific criteria, giving them an opportunity to showcase their projects and products to the University community.

Visitors will be able to take part in interactive activities offering different ways to support the Joud Student Support Fund.

The festival is being organised in partnership with several internal and external entities, with support from sponsors and partners.
