Qatar students experience a day at work through ‘Young Employee’ initiative

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in cooperation with the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation, launched the "Young Employee" initiative on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Ministry's permanent headquarters, with the participation of 44 students between the ages of 7 and 15 of the Ministry's employees, as part of the Ministry's efforts to enhance professional awareness among young people and introduce them to the work environment and the roles of government institutions.
This initiative provided the children of the Ministry's employees with the opportunity to accompany their parents on a day of professional life to learn about the work environment, tasks and job responsibilities, in a way that contributes to exploring their tendencies, and developing their awareness of professional life and future choices.
The initiative included a set of interactive activities and practical experiences, including introductory tours in the Ministry's departments, which provided participants with the opportunity to learn about the nature of the work of the departments and their specializations, in addition to the "Treasure Hunt" competition, which encouraged students to explore the Ministry's facilities and learn about its tasks in an interactive and fun manner.
The participants also experienced professional life with their parents, by performing simplified job tasks that simulate the actual work environment, in addition to attending the "Little Trader" workshop, which aimed to develop their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, and introduce them to the basic concepts of entrepreneurship.
In this context, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education stressed that the "Young Employee" initiative reflects its keenness to provide educational and applied experiences that go beyond the classroom framework, and contribute to developing students' skills and enhancing their self-confidence, noting that involving employees' children in the work environment provides them with the opportunity to understand the nature of professional roles, and strengthens their connection to the institution and its role in serving the community.
For his part, QCDC stressed that the initiative comes within the framework of its efforts to spread the culture of career guidance at an early age by providing practical opportunities that help students discover their interests and abilities, and expand their perceptions about future careers and paths, thus contributing to building a generation that is more aware of their educational and career choices.
The event concluded by honoring the participating students, in appreciation of their interaction and participation in the activities, in a positive atmosphere, which reflected the importance of the partnership between educational institutions and entities specialized in professional development, and their role in preparing future generations, and enabling them to discover the world of work from a young age.
