As Qatar continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic with all its might, the country’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has issued updated lists of green, yellow and red countries based on the categorization of COVID-19 risk.

The lists came into effect on Monday, August 23, 2021, the Ministry said in a tweet.

The new list of green countries has shrunk from 21 to 11 whereas the yellow list countries now stand at 27 in contrast to its previous version that included 33 countries.

The list of red countries sees a jump from 153 (in the previous version) to 167 currently.

Under its travel and return policy, Qatar introduced the green, yellow and red lists, which categorize countries based on their level of COVID-19 risk.

In addition to these countries, six countries India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Philippines have been grouped under the 'Special Risk 6-Country Zone.’

Anyone traveling from the six countries will follow these rules: those vaccinated/recovering from COVID-19 in Qatar are subject to two-day hotel quarantine and are allowed to leave the hotel on the second day if the result of the PCR test is negative. The rest of the people are subject to hotel quarantine for a period of 10 days.
