In some positive news for Indian expatriate workers looking to acquire a visa to Qatar and enjoy a number of visa-related services in the comfort of their homeland, Qatar's Ministry of Interior (MoI) has confirmed the reopening of Qatar Visa Centers (QVCs) in India next month.

According to the notice, shared by MoI on its Twitter page, the QVCs will open their doors on Thursday, December 3, 2020.

Individuals looking to make appointments to visit any of the QVCs can do so through the website: https://www.qatarvisacenter.com/

Qatar has established a total of seven QVCs in India. The QVCs work to streamline and ease the visa procedures for Indian expatriates traveling to Qatar for work.

The seven QVCs in India are operational in the cities: New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi.

As Qatar continues to fight the spread of COVID-19 and has been easing restrictions related to it, the country also announced the latest travel policy based on public health indicators in Qatar and around the world.

Effective, November 29, residents who wish to travel abroad and re-enter Qatar will now be issued automatic exceptional entry permits upon departure. These can be obtained through the MOI website.

This does not apply to residents who are currently outside of Qatar who would still be required to apply for the exceptional return permit via the Qatar e-governmental Portal to gain the required approval for re-entry to the country.
