The situation in the Gaza Strip, as a result of Israeli aggression on defenceless Palestinian people, is worsening with each passing day, Qatar has warned.

The Palestinian people have been raising their voices in demand of basic national rights and the lifting of the unjust siege imposed on the Strip, reported Gulf Times.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned the international community that their silence and the lack of action could only serve to worsen the situation in Gaza.

Qatar reiterated its position that the Palestinian people deserved an independent state, with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital, and that refugees had a right to return to their land, stressing that ignoring these issues was a grave violation of international laws.

“Qatari diplomacy will spare no effort in working to lift the unjust siege imposed on Gaza,” MOFA was quoted as saying by Qatar Tribune.

“In addition to Qatar’s active and direct contribution to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and its contributions through international institutions such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Qatari diplomacy is working hard through public efforts coordinated by the Chairman of Qatar National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador HE Mohammed al Emadi,” the statement added.

The primary goal of Qatari efforts is to end the injustice against the Palestinian people and the country has nothing to hide in this regard.

The statement stressed that Qatar’s stance on Israeli occupation and the historic rights of the Palestinian people, which were approved by UN resolutions, is unquestionable.

Meanwhile, the United Nations has warned of threats of a new war in the Gaza Strip.
