A delegation of Qatari scouts joined thousands of scouts and scouting leaders from across the globe at the 24th World Scout Jamboree held in West Virginia, US, from July 22 to August 2.
The global event is considered as one of the largest and most culturally diverse youth events in the world.

This year’s edition saw more than 45,000 people from over 150 countries gather at the event that went on for 12 days.
The Qatari delegation also represented the country at this highly significant world event for young people who pledge to shape the world for the better.

According to Qatar News Agency, during their participation in the camp, members of the Qatari delegation received the medal of world friendship, mountaineering, and kayaking.
Khalid Abdulrahman Al Sharshani, Saeed Ibrahim Al Mohannadi, Rashid Khalid Al Hitmi, Eid Al Sulaiti, Mohamed Ahmed Karbon, Yousif Nasser Al Hammadi, Hassen Ahmed Al Nima, Mohamed Ali Al Nima, Ali Badr Al Nahdi, Sultan Ahmed Al Bardini, Abdullah Ali Al Muraikhi, Mohamed Faisal Al Hajri, Faisal Ahmed Al Yafei and Sultan Khalid Al Hammadi received the jack medal.
Commissioner General, Qatar Scout and Girl Guides Association, Jassim Al Hardan said the Qatari participation was aimed at allowing Qatari youth to attend these major global events to highlight their role in supporting global communication while promoting Qatari culture.
He stressed the importance of participating in these global camps, which are held every four years and bring together scouts from the world over.
The event highlights diverse cultures, beliefs, and heritage in an atmosphere of scout unity and noble values.

The Qatari scouts delegation also attended a parade during the 24th edition of the World Scout Jamboree.
They highlighted the cultural legacy and pride of the country and displayed placards expressing patriotism and loyalty.
The 24th World Scout Jamboree was held under the motto: ‘Unlock a New World.’
The event was hosted by Scouts Canada, Asociacion de Scouts de México and the Boy Scouts of America.

Young scouts (14 to 17year olds), as well as volunteers, have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities that promote the idea of unity and peace for a better world.
Some of the activities comprise parade, darts, horseback riding, swimming, climbing, scouting, kayaking and bicycle riding to help youngsters acquire the skills of self-reliance in an environment closer to nature.
