Qatar's inaugural beach volleyball team, featuring Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, has secured a spot in the semifinals at the Paris 2024 Olympics. They triumphed over the US duo Bartin Miles and Benish Andrew in straight sets, 21-14 and 21-16, marking their fifth consecutive win.

In the semifinals, they will face Swedish team David Ahman and Jonathan Hellvig, whom they previously defeated 2-1 in the group stage. This achievement highlights Qatar's third consecutive Olympic participation, aiming to build on its impressive track record, including gold medals at the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games and a bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Mohamed Salem Al Kuwari, a board member of the Qatar Volleyball Association and head of the Qatari delegation at Paris 2024, praised the team for their perseverance and exceptional performance throughout the competition.
