To strengthen bilateral relations between Qatar and the United States, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah met with a delegation of members of the US Congress yesterday.
The delegation from the US is currently on a visit to Qatar.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the Qatar-US relations and looked into ways of cementing them further.
HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States of America Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, and a number of senior officers of the armed forces also participated in the meeting.
The visiting US Congress delegation also met with His Excellency Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani yesterday.

The delegation was headed by the Chairman of House Committee on Foreign Affairs Democratic Representative for New York, Gregory Meeks.
The session delved into the friendship and cooperation relations between Qatar and the US. The two sides also explored ways to enhance ties in light of regional and international challenges and developments.
The meeting also discussed Qatar's regional role and efforts in the field of mediation and achieving regional stability.
