In order to combat the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Mexican States has announced that it will provide medical and preventive aid from Qatar Charity to the states of Morelos and Guerrero in Mexico.

This came during a meeting of HE Mexico's Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs at the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs Martha Delgado with HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari, in the presence of HE Minister of Health in Morelos Marco Antonio Cantu and HE Under Secretary of Tourism in Guerrero Noe Peralta.

In addition to Mexico, Qatar has come to the aid of more than 22 countries including Belarus, China, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Nepal, Palestine, among others

HE Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs expressed her gratitude for the State of Qatar's continuous support for Mexico and acknowledged the bilateral relations between the two countries.

For his part, HE Ambassador Al Kuwari stressed the distinction of the Qatari-Mexican relations and joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields and noted the efforts of the State of Qatar to provide the necessary medical assistance to friendly countries to combat the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the start of the pandemic, Qatar has been stressing the need for international solidarity and combined efforts to overcome the challenge.

Upon the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the country has generously given medical as well as financial aid to nations deeply impacted by the virus.

 The support reflects Qatar's contribution to international efforts to tackle infectious disease, which poses a common threat to all countries in the world.
