Health and fitness in Qatar has sustained a substantial growth over the last couple of years and has shown no signs of slowing down. To explore this trend, we caught up with International Fitness Alliance (IFA) Founder and CEO, Khalid Unjum.

IFA has offered internationally recognized fitness education programs in Qatar for the last five years. They have graduated hundreds of Internationally Certified Trainers who are now working all over the world, from Qatar to the UK, USA and many other countries.

They also provide the highest quality of education and services to their students to help them reach their full potential and succeed in their career. With IFA, you are guaranteed a job interview with the best gyms within Qatar once you have completed the course.

With their unique perspective of the fitness industry, IFA has been able to fully understand and see how this market has grown exponentially in the past five years.

Have a look at what Khalid had to say about the growing health and fitness trend in Qatar and how you too can be a fitness trainer like him.

QL: What trends have you noticed in the health and fitness industry in Qatar over the last five years?

Khalid: Qatar has been increasingly witnessing awareness when it comes to health and fitness. Government initiatives like the National Sports Day is a testament to the country's willingness to tackle its health issues. Annual sponsored fitness events like Ooredoo Marathon and Dolphin Energy's Doha Dash are on rise. Overall, there's a sense of health awareness, which is fueling the health and fitness industry in the country.

QL: What role does IFA play in raising health awareness in Qatar?

Khalid: What we do to support is educate people on the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle through scientifically proven methods. A lot of people out there have knowledge about physical fitness, but we help standardize it so interested individuals can pursue a successful career in this field.

The most important thing about the programs we offer is that they are accessible to everyone and we train in a safe and efficient manner.

QL: How do you find the standards of the fitness programs in Qatar?

Khalid: The standards have progressed over time and the quality of the programs are meeting the demands of the public. Our programs focuses on training individuals to become qualified trainers and offer the best fitness education currently in the market.

QL: What sort of programs do you offer at IFA?

Khalid: We're aware that trainers constantly want to progress and keep themselves up-to-date with the latest information in training techniques and cutting-edge equipments.

Gym owners within Qatar usually look for qualified trainers and we try to meet this demand by offering fitness instructor and personal trainer courses to interested individuals. We also offer short two-day instructor certifications in bootcamp, suspension, kickboxing, boxing, kettle bell, stretching and spinning.

QL: Are there any requirements for those looking to become a fitness trainer?

Khalid: The only requirement is the passion for health & fitness and the willingness to learn from our instructors. Our programs are open to everyone, given there are slots available (of course).
