Every Sunday, the Qatar Living content team will share their personal recommendations for everything from apps to films and brunches this week in Qatar. As a multinational group, there's a diversity of choices and preference that we hope will cater to everybody.

1. The Pier at the Four Seasons Doha
Last Thursday I visited The Pier located at the Four Seasons Doha because I heard they have a new menu and promotions. The place is really beautiful with a spectacular view of Nobu restaurant, the unique structure of the hotel and the ocean. The vibe is so calm and nice. The music is not too loud, just the perfect volume. The service and overall ambience are just perfect. When it comes to food they have different salads and hummus to nibble. For the main courses, the grilled chicken and smoked Turkish is the right way to go. I recommend visiting The Pier, it is an experience. You can enjoy daily promotions in the afternoon.

2. LaLiga Lounge Festival
I had to recommend this as it is the biggest event happening this week. The second edition of this unique football and entertainment festival kicks off this week at Hotel Park Doha from April 4th to 7th.
Festival organizers have promised a celebration of sports, food, entertainment and games that will entice people to engage with one of the most popular global football leagues, LaLiga.
Last year, over 35,000 people visited the festival. There will be all kinds of football games this year and you're all welcome to participate. Last year, my colleagues and I had a lot of fun in the football tournament. We got knocked out in round one though :)
If you're interested in registering your team, visit LaLiga Lounge Festival's website.
Date: April 4 - 7
Timing: 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Location: Hotel Park Doha

3. The Exorcist (streaming on Amazon Prime)
I was hesitant to even watch this series, no, not because I'm a scaredy cat. I was such a fan of the iconic original movie from the 70s that after several disappointing "sequels", I felt there was no way of adding further to the legacy in my opinion. Out of pure boredom, I watched the first episode of this reboot, and then the second, and then the third. I was absorbed by the first season immensely. Without giving away spoilers, The Exorcist tv show adds so much to what the original movie created. It's both chilling and well acted. Perhaps not for those easily offended, but definitely recommended for those looking for something to watch with the lights off. The twists and turns are so perfectly executed that you'll be compelled (see what I did there) to binge this in no time.

4. Hausu (1977)
Bubblegum teen melodrama meets grisly phantasmagoria in Hausu (1977), one of the strangest horror films to ever come from Japan (and that is saying a lot). At it’s most basic, Hausu is about an old house in the countryside that tries to eat a bunch of schoolgirls, but the imagery concocted in the execution of that simple premise is you know what, just watch this video:
Few random facts about the movie:
1. It was inspired by Jaws (1975)
2. It feels like an episode of Scooby Doo directed by Dario Argento
3. The cast is made up of non-actors (and it shows - the acting is hilariously stilted)
4. It’s about the bomb (like the majority of post-World War II Japanese media)
5. It was the debut feature of Nobuhiko Obayashi - a director of TV ads known for his surreal visual style
Watch it if you like "fun".

5. Spending Tracker
You know that feeling when you just got your paycheck, and then a week or two later, a lot of it's gone and you have no idea how it happened?
Despite our different incomes, everyone wants to save money. Whether you want to save for a nice vacation or to buy that car you always wanted. Spending tracker is an app that makes this process a whole lot easier.
It allows you to log in everything you spend in a convenient and simple way. I’ve tried tracking my spending in the past, but it’s never been as easy as it is with this app, mainly due to having my phone with me all the time.
Once you log in all your spending, the app gives you a weekly, monthly, or yearly summary of your spending. And because you log everything into categories like shopping, eating out, fuel, and so on, you’ll have a detailed overview of how much you spend on each category.
Spending tracker is what I’m recommending for this week, and I urge anyone trying to save to give a try.

6. Walker's Shortbread Wee Scottie Dog Tin
A friend brought me some biscuits from her trip to Scotland and they were delicious. Plus the biscuits are shaped like Scottie Dogs! And are super cute. I applaud you if you can resist finishing the whole tin can in one day.
You can find them here on Amazon.

7. Torba Farmers Evening Market
With the warmer weather already setting in, the weekend farmer's market at Qatar Foundation (QF) has moved to a later time in the day.
The market is a Qatar-based movement that aims to deliver organic and locally-grown food and homemade products. It's open to the public, so if you're interested in eating healthy while supporting local products, I highly recommend it.
The gathering at QF's Ceremonial Court for the Evening Market is from 5:00 pm till 10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday. They're always looking for traders and volunteers to participate, so if you're interested, you can contact them or apply through their Trader Application Form.
