The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has forecast rainy weather in the country during the weekend.

In a social media post, the QMD said both Friday and Saturday are expected to witness thundershowers associated with strong wind and poor visibility at times.

On Friday, the winds will blow in the Northwesterly-Southeasterly direction with a speed of eight to 18 knots. It will go up to 35 knots during thundershowers.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the wind’s direction will be Northwesterly-Northeasterly. It will blow at a speed of eight to 18 knots, going up to 45 knots during thundershowers.

The height of sea waves on Friday will be between three to five feet, rising to 13 feet during rain. On Saturday, waves measuring two to four feet are expected. It could rise to nine feet during thundershowers.
