The Ministry of Labour has announced adjusted working hours for employees in the private sector during the holy month of Ramadan.

The revised schedule aims to support workers and employers by balancing productivity with the spiritual observance of the fasting period.

According to the ministry’s announcement, private sector employees will work 36 hours per week and capped at 6 hours per day during Ramadan.

This temporary schedule is intended to accommodate reduced working hours for fasting employees, enabling them to manage their daily routines while fulfilling work responsibilities.

The Ministry of Labour stressed that the adjusted hours apply to all private companies operating within the country and urged employers to adhere to the directive throughout the month.

With the start of Ramadan approaching, both employers and workers are advised to familiarise themselves with the new working hours and make necessary arrangements to uphold productivity and staff welfare during this period.
