Qatar-Russia relations have reached new heights and continue to grow with cooperation across various fields, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin highlighted in a meeting recently.
President Putin, who was speaking to representatives of 16 global news agencies including Qatar News Agency (QNA) virtually, lauded the relations between Qatar and Russia at all levels.
The Russian President said that the strong Qatar-Russia ties are a reflection of the personal relations between him and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Referring to the growing cooperation between Qatar and Russia, President Putin said the collaboration has expanded across different domains, particularly in the field of investment and joint investment funds.
He affirmed Russia’s support for Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, specifying that he had discussed Qatar’s hosting of the mega sporting event with HH the Amir.
The Russian President expressed his complete satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two countries, in various fields, adding that it is a reflection of the personal relationships between the Russian President and HH The Amir. #QNA

Russia supports Qatar as it gears up to host the tournament and will coordinate with the Gulf state to assure the event is carried out successfully, President Putin underlined.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, the Russian President said lasting peace in the region cannot be achieved without resolving the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
Multilateral cooperation and discussions are paramount in this regard, President Putin said, stressing the need for the international community’s special attention for such issues.
President Putin emphasized the two-state solution, which is the establishment of a Palestinian and an Israeli state, provided that this solution will positively impact Palestinians and Israelis.
He affirmed that Russia will continue to make efforts toward solving the Palestinian issue.
