Qatar’s Abderrahman Samba defended his Asian Games gold medal in 400M hurdles when he completed the run with a season’s best time of 48.04sec at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.

The lanky runner, who had been out for a while with injuries, made the most of the big stage to roar home to his second Asian Games gold medal in the discipline.

Qatar’s Bassem Hemeida finished second, with a personal best time of 48.52sec, thereby completing a sensational one-two for the country.

China’s Xie Zhiyu was third in 49.16sec.
