For the second time this year, people living in Qatar will be able to see the ‘Blue Moon’ phenomenon.

The Qatar Calendar House announced that Qatar and countries of the Arab region will witness the ‘Blue Moon’ phenomenon on Saturday (March 31), reported Gulf Times.

The first Blue Moon phenomenon of the year had occurred on January 31.

Dr Bashir Marzouk, an astronomer working at Qatar Calendar House, said people in Qatar and all Arab nations will be able to see this year’s last Blue Moon from Saturday evening until the early hours of Sunday, reported The Peninsula.

He explained that the moon will shine above the eastern horizon of the sky of Doha at 5.51pm on Saturday, and will end at 6.06am on Sunday.

It is expected that the next Blue Moon phenomenon will occur in October, 2020.
