The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Evaluation Committee is in Qatar for a three-day visit to assess the country's readiness as a potential host for the 2030 Asian Games.

The Committee was welcomed by the Doha 2030 Asian Games Bid Committee upon arrival at Hamad International Airport (HIA) yesterday.

As the OCA officials began their tour of Doha’s world-class, tried and tested sports venues today, they met with Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser during their visit to Qatar Foundation.

Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, vice-chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, and His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Qatar Olympic Committee and Doha 2030 Chairman, participated in the meeting.

The OCA officials visited the state-of-the-art sporting facilities in Education City as part of their evaluation.

Earlier, the CEO of Doha 2030, HE Jassim bin Rashid Albuenain had welcomed the OCA team and commented, “The next three days are a critical opportunity for our bid to demonstrate why we believe Doha 2030 would be a gateway to a brighter future for Asian sport.”
