The South African Embassy hosted the Under 19 Football team of Cape Flats Football Academy on Wednesday. The Cape Flats Football Academy is currently on tour in Qatar playing other U-19 teams of the country.

HE Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa Shirish Soni welcomed the team and adddressed the crowd that came to show support. He thanked the South African community in Qatar for the assistance received in making this tour a success for the Cape Flats Football Academy.

"We thank the sponsors Nando's Qatar for their financial assistance to this initiative by Cape Flats Football Academy," Soni added.

He also had a word of advice for the young football players.

"It is very easy to choose the wrong path at the young age that you are in and I am proud of you for choosing the right path through sports. I wish you all the luck in Qatar and in the future."

The tour is meant to introduce Qatari and South African students to each other and can lead to stronger ties between the two countries.

International casual dining restaurant chain Nando's is sponsoring Cape Flats Football Academy's tour in Qatar.

"Being a South African brand, we are proud to be associated with Cape Flats Football Academy. As a brand we are always proud of our heritage and we believe in the power of the community," said Francois Rousseau, chief operating officer of Oryx Group for Food Services.

22 April 2017 – Pakistan International School Under 19 team Morning match 8:00 am

23 April 2017 – Evening Practice at Corniche Waterfront

24 April 2017 – Evening match 8:30pm Venue: Lekhwiya Sports Club

25 April 2017 – Al Markhiya Sports Club Evening match 6:30pm or Rest Day

26 April 2017 – Lusail City Football Club Evening match 8:30pm
