Tuesday night marked the first night of the Muqaddam star, also known as the second Hameem, and temperatures are expected to climb during this period, said the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).

Northwestern winds are expected to increase during the star’s rise, which lasts for 13 days, and sudden changes in weather will become noticeable.

Cumulus clouds, occasionally accompanied by thunder, rain and sandstorms, also form during this period.

The QMD also announced that the weather on Wednesday would be partly cloudy. There are also chances of thundery rain in some areas in the south of Qatar.
