The Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) Yousuf Khalid Al Khulaifi stated that 100 rooms have been distributed among Qatari farms this year in order to dry the dates.
Al Khulaifi pointed out that these rooms can speed up the drying process and improve the quality of these local dates, offering a significant advantage in comparison to traditional methods.
He also stated that the Ministry is awaiting the outcomes of the rooms for drying dates in the farms before distributing further rooms.
The Ministry is prepared to acquire the dates from the farms and has set aside QAR10 million for this purpose. These purchases are given to local charities, who then distribute them to countries in need.
The ongoing exhibition is organized by the MME, represented by the Department of Agricultural Affairs and Souq Waqif Management.
