After the thundering rain received yesterday, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) announced that most areas will continue to receive heavy rains for the next two days.
Keeping the welfare of their people in mind, the Ministry of Labour has called upon employers to observe safety measure on work sites, urged masses to measure wind speed before putting any plan in action and to stop crane operations. The announcement came immediately after Qatar received thundery rain with Southeasterly- Northeasterly strong wind ranging from 08 - 18KT gusting to 35Kt during heavy rainfall along with poor visibility.

The Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee at the Ministry of Municipality has affirmed its readiness to deal with rains, and immediately set to work with equipment and mechanism to remove water from various regions of the country. Qatar Meteorology Department also shared insightful tips and safety protocols for all citizens to adhere to during this time.

The Ministry received calls related to water logging and dealt with it immediately. In liaison with security authorities, traffic regulation was also looked over whereas coordination with parks departments allowed efficient removal of fallen trees due to rain. The General Cleanliness Department also tactfully handled the situation as all roads were cleared within a short span of time.
