Kristen Vanderveen stamped her authority in the final round of HH The Father Amir’s Prix, winning the CSI5* Table A 155cm jump‑off at Al Shaqab.
She guided 12‑year‑old gelding Bull Run’s Jireh to a flawless 40.14sec win, with Switzerland’s Nadja Peter Steiner second on Clearround IL Mondo in 40.53sec, and Brazil’s Marlon Modolo Zanotelli third on Charly Heart in 41.02sec.
Janne Friederike Meyer‑Zimmermann was fourth on My Lady Lavista in 42.08sec and Britain’s Harry Charles fifth on Fighting Phil in 42.30sec.
In the CSI5* Six Bar over 150cm, Millie Allen and Quickly D vh Ijzerenlindehof were the only combination fault‑free throughout to win. Philipp Weishaupt was second with Lady Concern du Rezidal, while third place was shared by Juan Carlos Garcia (Django du Marais), Mustafa Saed (Kalliope Lvp Z) and Max Kuhner (Eic Cooley Jump The Q), all faulting in the last round.
Germany’s Weishaupt also claimed the CSI5* Faults and Time 145cm, producing the only sub‑60sec clear - 59.87sec - on Karaldo. Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly was second on Valentino in 62.33sec, with American Eve Jobs third on Kannandillo in 62.44sec; Steiner took fourth on Nice Van’t Zorgvliet in 62.68sec, and Vanderveen fifth on Starbucks 27 in 62.80sec.
Alsharbatly topped the CSI3* Faults and Time 1.45m on Quisandro in 60.55sec, ahead of Qatar’s Faleh Suwead Al Ajami on Wathnan Qapella in 61.20sec and Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano on Julius.D in 61.48sec.
Gaudiano then dominated the CSI3* Jump‑Off 1.40m, winning with a double‑clear on Diarouge Blue PS in 37.06sec and taking second on Chabrello PS in 37.73sec, with Iraq’s Zayed Ali third on Quirani van de Maltahoeve in 39.37sec.
Britain’s Oliver Fletcher won the CSI3* Special Two‑Phase 1.30m on Krack Bleu C in 32.78sec; Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Alasaker was second on Scoobylensky Theyss in 34.43sec and Egypt’s Abdallah Haitham third on Consagros in 34.68sec.
In the CSI1* Faults and Time 1.25m, Saudi riders took the top two spots: Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Alsheik won on Lalla Aicha in 55.41sec, ahead of Mohammed Aldalaan on Sarina Del Valle in 55.85sec, with France’s Jean Francois Rondoux third on Inter‑Larus in 59.49sec.
In the CSICh‑B Special Two‑Phase 1.05m, Saudi Arabia’s Halah Alrasheed won with a double‑clear on Cruising On The Ridge in 23.68sec, Qatar’s Abdulla Ahmad Al Musafri was second on Celia Z in 24.71sec, and Sharida Nasser S S Al Kaabi third on Mazzeltof in 26.77sec.
The CSI1* Faults and Time 1.15m went to Saudi Arabia’s Fahad Alshammari on Le Garde in 53.13sec, with Qatar’s Mohammed Eisa Al Bukhari second on Canao du Lohic in 53.95sec and Saad Waheed Al Kuwari third on Galatee de La Trigale in 54.71sec.
Qatari riders dominated the National Competition Optimum Time 80cm: Ghanim Thamer Al Maadadi won on Kroaat, finishing 0.02sec inside the optimum; Moza Hamza Al Kuwari was second on Senna at 0.03sec; and Salha Khalid Al Obaidli third on Violet, 0.08sec outside the optimum.
Assistant Tournament Director Sheikh Talal bin Khalid Al Thani said HH The Father Amir’s Prix has confirmed its status as a leading international equestrian event, with four rounds of intense competition and elite participation.
He noted riders from more than 38 countries and over €3.3mn in total prize money, highlighting both the global appeal of the show and the progress of Qatari riders, who regularly reached the podium.
He credited the event’s success to high‑level organisation and Qatar’s experience hosting major sporting events, tying it to the ambitions of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026 Organising Committee and Qatar’s role as a regional and international sporting hub.
Today’s fourth and final round features Grand Prix competitions across three categories: the main outdoor arena hosts the CSI3* Grand Prix 150cm with jump‑off and the CSI5* Grand Prix 160cm with jump‑off; the Longines indoor arena stages the CSI1* Grand Prix 130cm with jump‑off. The secondary outdoor arena offers a CSI3* 130cm jump‑off and a local 100cm class, while the indoor arena also has a 120cm jump‑off and a junior 110cm jump‑off. The main outdoor arena will further stage a CSI3* 140cm class and a CSI5* 150cm two‑round class, plus additional 100cm jump‑offs. HH The Father Amir Award spans four international rounds from one‑ to five‑star, includes junior and youth competitions, and its second, third and fourth rounds act as qualifiers for the FEI Group VII Finals.
