The hotel park located in Doha’s bustling West Bay Corniche district is known for its pristine water features, including mini-fountains, waterfalls and small streams. But amidst the natural, relaxing landscape, the park is now also known for hosting LaLiga Lounge.

The restaurant is a nice place to unwind over virgin cocktails and mouthwatering Spanish-style dishes and comfort foods, prepare by renowned Spanish Chef Juan.

Like any good sports lounge, LaLiga offers patrons the opportunity to watch the most exciting games through their big screens with dozens of high tech displays.

For the younger football fans, the Lounge has allocated a special area where they can play games and enjoy virtual football matches with play stations.

This is a laid-back, no frills venue decorated in LaLiga memorabilia; a unique concept in Doha that will please any football fan.

We visited the lounge to check out the ambiance, décor and its fantastic food.

LaLiga Lounge scored big with their menu full of typical Mediterranean cuisine with strong Spanish influence.

During our visit, we tried some of Chef’s Juan signatures dishes. We started our meal with a chilled Gazpacho soup. The soup is made of raw blended vegetables and served cold. It has a slight pureed salad sort of flavour and is by far one of the most delicious soups one can try anywhere.

Our second starter was the Batata Harra, a combination of spiced tomatoes cubes with coriander and lemon. We also tried the grilled aubergine salad with vine tomato, avocado and romesco. Every single starter had its own unique and fascinating flavour. We couldn’t decide which one we liked the best!

The star dish of the day was the Paella Negra which we had as one of our main courses. The paella was made with roast squid and clams with black ink. The paella was cooked to perfection and it was so flavoursome we couldn’t get enough. We were also offered the Paella Marisco, another delicious creation of Chef Juan.

One dish that really surprised us because of its out-of-this-world taste was the Caldera Spanish Seafood Stew in tomato salsa. We highly recommend it.

The Vanilla Crème Catalan is perhaps the best dessert on the menu. This baked vanilla custard with caramel crisp toppings resembles the famous Crème Burlee, but it is more juicy with a balanced sweetness.

All in all, the dishes we tried had fantastic taste and texture. It is evident that a Spanish chef is behind these creations.

There is plenty more on offer in the menu. From tapas to seafood, beef and chicken dishes, and much moreat LaLiga Lounge you will find a dish that will please your taste buds.
