Qetaifan Projects Company, a subsidiary of Katara Hospitality that was established to develop and manage Qetaifan Island North, announced on its Twitter page that the island will soon have water park rides.

Spread over 1.4 million square meters, the Qetaifan Island North, part of Lusail City, is the first entertainment island in Qatar, earmarked to be developed into an internationally recognized landmark.

The island features seven beaches, making it a distinctive waterfront of the city.

Among other fascinating facilities focused on family entertainment, the island will consist of a water park with up to 21 rides.

A bridge with a train ride will connect the waterpark with the iconic island, which will host the highest water slide in the world standing at approx. 80 meters, according to the company website.  

Additionally, the island will feature a beach resort hotel, luxurious chalets, a beach club, a retail souq, and plaza.

The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by November 2021.

Qetaifan Projects was established to address the increasing demand for high-quality tourism facilities in the country.
