The Filipino business community in Qatar witnessed a milestone event as the Kabayan Connect Qatar: Reintegration & Innovation (KQ:RI) business conference & exhibition being the 6th installment of the Philippine Property & Investment Show Qatar (PPISQ), concluded with record-breaking attendance and strong investment outcomes. Organized by the Association of Filipino Real Estate Executives in Qatar (AFREEQ) in partnership with Link Pro Business, the full-day conference held at the Manar Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Hotel -The Business Park gathered more than 600 attendees and generated PHP 56,000,000 worth of potential investment deals, igniting optimism across property, entrepreneurship, and reintegration sectors.

The morning session formally opened with ribbon-cutting ceremonies, followed by welcome remarks from Nuaira H. Muhammad, Vice Chairperson of Association of Filipino Real Estate Executive in Qatar (AFREEQ) and Overall Committee Chairperson of the 6th PPISQ / KCQ and likewise Managing Director of Link Pro Business . Muhammad underscored the importance of Filipino business engagement in Qatar and praised PPISQ’s 10-year’s of dedicated hard work by AFREEQ founding chairman Dr. Joseph Timothy Rivera.

Mardomel Cel Melicor was represented by Consul General Cassandra Sawadjaan, who delivered the opening address highlighting the growing investment corridors between Qatar and the Philippines. Her message emphasized strategic cooperation, investor confidence, and the vital role of the Filipino diaspora in bridging opportunities between the two countries.

Key institutional insights followed, including a video presentation on the Philippines as an investment destination featuring legal, tax, and policy perspectives for foreign direct investments by Tereso Panga, Director General of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority.

Despite her busy schedule, a special speech was likewise was delivered virtually by Patricia Yvonne Caunan, Administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), who outlined the benefits and programs available to OFWs, reinforcing government support for upskilling, reintegration, and long-term financial security.

2025 Noble Queen of the Universe – Globe Jeanette Gotangogan presented an inspiring speech highlighting how Overseas Filipino Workers can achieve a smart retirement through proper advocacy and sustainable passive income.

A key highlight of the afternoon session was the virtual keynote address delivered by Philippine Vice President Sara Z. Duterte, who emphasized the importance of safeguarding the sacrifices of Overseas Filipino Workers through full compliance with Qatari regulatory standards. In her message, she underscored that OFW-focused programs and investment initiatives must always operate within the bounds of Qatar’s laws to ensure protection, credibility, and sustainability, while also stressing the vital role of licensed and duly recognized organizations in hosting business and investment events abroad. She noted that compliant and legitimate platforms help shield OFWs to engage in secure, empowering, and long-term economic opportunities aligned with national development goals.
