Doha is ready to welcome the world’s best military parachutists as the 47th CISM Qatar 2025 World Military Parachuting Championship takes flight from November 15 to 23 at the Umm Shakhout Airport in Doha.
Organised by the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces, the event will feature 320 elite jumpers from 30 nations competing across three disciplines for men and women - the four-way formation event, the style competition, and precision target landing.
The Supreme Organising Committee, led by Brigadier General Mohammed bin Zayed Al Otaibi - Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee and Commander of the Joint Special Forces - has completed all preparations and drawn upon extensive expertise to stage a championship befitting Qatar’s status as a global sporting capital.
Brigadier General Al Otaibi extended a warm welcome to all participants, praising the record and distinguished international turnout. He affirmed that all logistical and technical arrangements are ready to deliver an event that reflects Qatar’s high organisational standards and the confidence placed in it by the CISM family.
Captain Hazza Hamad Al Attiyah, Secretary-General of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, echoed this confidence, describing the championship as both an organisational and celebratory challenge. He expressed the committee’s full readiness to host the event with excellence and wished every athlete success in competition.
The opening activities will start on Friday with a technical meeting at the Umm Shakhout Airport conference hall, where organisers will finalise team registrations, review technical and refereeing protocols, and brief participants on doping regulations and other competition guidelines.
Official training sessions will follow, giving all teams - both men and women - multiple opportunities to familiarise themselves with conditions and refine their routines through several practice jumps.
Meanwhile, the Qatari national team continues its intensive preparations for the Goal competition, training daily with focus, discipline, and high morale as it looks to make a strong impression on home soil.
With meticulous preparation, world-class facilities, and participants from around the globe, the 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championship promises to deliver another milestone in Qatar’s journey as a global hub for elite sporting events.
