With less than 500 days until the FIFA World Cup 2022 kicks off in Qatar, the country's hospitality and tourist sectors are actively preparing for increased demand.

IFP Qatar has announced the sixth edition of Hospitality Qatar, which will take place at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Center from November 8 to 11, 2021, in support of this significant effort.

The leading international hotel, restaurant, and café (HORECA) trade fair and conference in Qatar is well-positioned to equip these varied industries and help Qatar prepare to welcome visitors from all over the world.

According to industry experts, the country's tourism and hospitality sectors are seeing a significant surge in investments and initiatives in order to meet demand for the major athletic event.

There are still 46 hotels under construction in the country, with a total capacity of 13,000 rooms. 22 of these hotels are expected to open by the end of this year, and 17 more will open by 2022.

Industry projections note that the rise of projects will continue after the World Cup with plans underway for the building of 20 more hotels in 2023, and another six in 2024.

These include several new resorts and advanced recreational facilities in addition to the continued expansion of restaurants and cafes in terms of size and quality of projects.

The event is expected to build on the success of the 2019 edition of Hospitality Qatar, which attracted 228 companies, seven international pavilions from 33 countries and over 11,500 attendants.
