The National Cyber Security Agency has announced the launch of the third edition of its Cybersecurity Summer Youth Camp, organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
The camp will run for three weeks and reflects the Agency’s commitment, through the National Cyber Security Academy, to developing a digitally aware generation capable of protecting its cyber environment.
Around 400 students aged between 13 and 17 will participate, including 200 boys and 200 girls from government and private schools across Qatar.
The camp is being held at Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys as part of the Agency’s efforts to develop national capabilities and strengthen cybersecurity awareness among young people.
For the first time, registered students will also be able to participate remotely and access training programmes and educational content through an online learning platform.
The initiative aims to expand access to the programme and allow more students to participate, whether at the camp venue or from their homes.
The programme is built around six main pillars: fundamentals, networks, ethical hacking, web security, systems and cyber defence.
These topics will be delivered through interactive lectures and workshops, while students attending in person will take part in practical exercises using specialised tools, including the TryHackMe virtual platform.
The programme also uses game-based learning and goal-based progression, with team challenges including “Escape from the Virus” and “Solve the Crime Mystery”.
Students will additionally take part in competitive tournaments, creative workshops and educational field visits.
The camp will also feature discussions with cybersecurity experts from government, private and academic sectors, offering students practical professional insights and highlighting the evolving skills required by the labour market.
