The Qatar Athletics Federation has selected six athletes to represent the national team at the World U20 Championships, scheduled to take place in Oregon, United States, from August 5 to 9.
The squad includes four athletes competing in field events. Abdullah Al Abdullah will participate in the pole vault, Abdulrahman Al Malki in the high jump, Abdulrahman Ibrahim in the hammer throw and Hamad Dhawi in the discus throw.
Two athletes will represent Qatar in track events, with Youssef Abdulaziz competing in the 400 metres and Mohammed Waheed taking part in the 1,500 metres.
The federation confirmed that the athletes have completed their preparations for the championship and will aim to achieve strong results while continuing the progress of Qatari athletics on the international stage.
In preparation for the competition, the Qatar Athletics Federation organised overseas training camps for the athletes in Europe and Africa over recent months.
The camps focused on helping the athletes reach their best physical and technical condition as they prepare to compete for medals at the championship.
