Air Algérie resumes direct flights between Doha and Algiers

Hamad International Airport has announced the resumption of regular direct flights between Doha and Algiers, expanding travel options between Qatar and Algeria and strengthening the airport’s international connectivity.

The return of Air Algérie gives passengers another direct option between the two capitals and brings the total number of airline partners operating through HIA to 37, including Qatar Airways.

Together, these airlines connect Doha to more than 160 destinations worldwide.

Three weekly flights now operating

Air Algérie is currently operating three direct flights per week between Doha and Algiers.

The airline is also aiming to increase capacity to a daily flight from October 25, in response to growing demand on the route.

Route resumes after seven-month pause

The direct service has resumed after a pause of around seven months, linked to regional airspace and aviation safety conditions.

Air Algérie first launched direct flights to Doha in the summer of 2022, initially operating two services per week.

The latest resumption therefore marks a return and expansion of the airline’s Qatar operation.

Air Algérie’s 45th international destination

Doha represents Air Algérie’s 45th international destination, further extending the airline’s international network.

The reopened route is also expected to support tourism, business travel and economic exchange between Qatar and Algeria.

HIA continues to expand connectivity

The return of Air Algérie adds another international connection to Hamad International Airport’s growing network.

With 37 airline partners and more than 160 destinations served, HIA continues to strengthen its position as a major global aviation hub connecting Qatar with markets across Africa, Europe, Asia and beyond.
